Menorah congratulates Avizohar for the debut release in the new label.
Avizohar was born and raised in Jerusalem, a mosaic city, where various cultures, religions and languages
have co-existed and commingled for thousands of years. Avizohar draws an influence from this mixture
and exerts this influence onto his work. In Linguistics applies different approaches for composition by
using different technologies such as analog synthesis and field recordings that react to chaotic
circuits and digital processing. In his compositional research he sees each method as a different language
and experiments with breaking points for new connections. He assumes that at the core of each language
lies a secret yet unveiled and that, in order to reveal it, one must explore and change several fundamental
rules.
The EP has been recorded in Studio Straus, a collective group and a space for extreme and experimental music and
tattoos located in Mea Shearim an ultra-orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Jerusalem. Avizohar is a
core member of the collective and is half of the enigmatic duo Kashaiof.
